Today is Native American Sunday.   On our altar are five colorful Indian headdress commemoratives,
issued August 17, 1990 , in Cody , Wyoming .
They picture examples that were handcrafted by
Native Americans about 70 to 140 years ago.   Indian headdresses, also called warbonnets , were worn by men as badges of their honor and prestige, and were sometimes worn by women, for special religious ceremonies.
