PRELUDE                                                    “ Jigue ”                                            By Buxtahude

*CALL TO WORSHIP

One:      God calls us together to worship this morning,

All:       from the work, play, and worry of the world.

One:      God gathers us to give thanks for creation's goodness,

All:       with the faith to know that all belongs to God.

One:      From everyday conversations, talk, and chatter,

All:       God invites us to engage one another and to embrace God.

One:      Worship is a dialogue, where truth is spoken from the depths of heart and mind, and all that are listening hear the voice of God.

All:       We worship through praise and prayer; we are deliberate to heed God's call and rejoice in what God enables.

All:       Welcome to Worship!

*HYMN OF PRAISE                “Lord, I Want to Be a Christian”                          Hymn #402

*OPENING PRAYER

God, who brings sunshine and rain, God who walks with us through joys and sorrows, God who is and does what is always good, we invite your Spirit to enable us to truly and fully worship you.   We pray our songs will not be performance, our words rote, our minds distracted, or our hearts restless.   May what we do in this hour truly honor, glorify and please you.   This we pray in the name and power of Your Son.   Amen.
